I can help you define your needs and produce a project brief. You’ll get an accessible website that meets the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, with HTML and CSS code that meets W3C standards. You’ll be able to edit your website yourself using the WordPress content management systems, so that you can easily create and update all of the pages yourself.
If you need a more complex site (for example, incorporating database technologies or extensive graphics) please contact me to discuss your needs. I’m always happy to provide a quote.

To set up Wordpress and install a pre-built theme of your choice
Maybe you’ve seen a WordPress theme (for example a free theme or a premium theme) that you think suits your needs, and all you need is for someone to install it for you. I can install WordPress and your chosen theme, as well as a dozen of the most useful plugins, and have your new off-the-shelf website up-and-running within days.
Cost: £400.
To customise an existing WordPress theme
Customisation might be very simple, for example removing the references to comments from a theme; or it could be complex, enabling WordPress to do something it wasn’t originally designed for.
Cost: from £100 upwards.
To host your website
Affordable hosting and support for your website. This includes:
- a domain name, for example .org.uk or .org.au;
- PHP and MySQL – ideal for WordPress or other CMS hosting;
- full access to your own control panel and detailed visitor stats;
- as much webspace and as many email mailboxes as you require.
Cost: £200 per annum.
To give your existing website a healthcheck
Not sure how your website could be improved? Need an independent opinion to convince your trustees to invest in the site? Want to give your web designer some useful suggestions? I’ll analyse your website carefully, figure out what works and what doesn’t, check how well your site performs in search engines and identify any coding problems that prevent your site doing better. You’ll get a two or three page report listing recommendations for change. I have a good understanding of how nonprofits can make the most of an Internet presence – and I can make practical suggestions on issues of content and style as well as design.
Cost: £75.
